Our April KINDRED theme, SPEAK, resulted in SPEAK INTO THE MIC, PLEASE, my reflections about attending my local caucus (with my kids in tow!) and speaking up about my political convictions, which frankly terrified me. (Disclaimer: it's a personal essay about finding one's voice under intimidating circumstances. No political candidates or party politics are discussed.)
"The loudest voices are always the most polarizing.... Either way, majority voices or minority voices, we cannot simply become an echo chamber, speaking only to those who share our perspective and opinions. We must all join a larger conversation with the humility to listen and the bravery to speak."
And over at PROJECT MAYHEM, I have THE ENNEAGRAM FOR CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT today about using the Enneagram, a personality typing system with a great degree of complexity and nuance, as a framework for making three-dimensional characters that feel like living, breathing people. Plus there are links to take the personality test for yourself, which is always a fun diversion. Happy reading!
